ATi 10.2 Catalyst Drivers Released today

Posted by essjae on February 17, 2010

Here’s hoping it fixes the cursor corruption issue. Not that the pointer trail work-around with is too bad.  At least I don’t have BSODs any longer like with the nVidia drivers.

Update:  No fix on the cursor corruption, it still happens.  And now I get a Displaylink failure notice more often, but it seems to be better at recovering as I haven’t had to unplug and replug the adapter.

Windows Activation Technologies Update for Windows 7

Windows 7 is going to call home every 90 days to make sure that you’re legal?  So, even though you install a legal copy of Windows 7, activate it legally, Microsoft still doesn’t trust you?  I know Windows is heavily pirated, but I find this a little too much and a little too disappointing.  Is Microsoft’s plan to continually drive away all of its advocates?

Displayport adapters aren’t perfect

Posted by essjae on February 10, 2010

Every once and a while I get a link failure…only way I’ve found to fix it so pull and re-plug in the adapter from the card.

Update:  The lastest drivers from AMD seem to have resolved this issue.  I haven’t lost my display port for a couple months now.
